Imber Exhibition
August 16 - August 23
Imber: The Ghost Village – A walk through the past
Over eighty years has passed since families were evicted from a small village on Salisbury Plain. In 1943, 150 people living in Imber were asked to move out so that the village could be turned into a military training area during WW2. Little did they know they would not be able to return home.
This exhibition shows a selection of the historical maps and information from the archives. Alongside, personal family memories through photography. It is respectfully dedicated to the families and relatives of the people of Imber.
Imberbus: A history of British transport
An introduction to the people and history of the Imber Bus event. Showcasing a selection of photographs taken since 2009.
The exhibitions will run from 16th to 23rd August (excluding Sunday 18th) between 10:30am and 1:00pm (10:30am to 4:00pm on Saturday 17th) at the Athenæum.
