Athenæum Open Mic Night

We’re doing something new at the Ath this summer! The Athenæum is opening the mic, and we mean it quite literally! Music, poetry, stand-up, spoken word, a song you wrote last Tuesday: if you want to share it, there’s a stage waiting for you. If you’d rather just listen with a drink in hand, we’ve got you covered too.

Open Mic Night is exactly what it sounds like: an open stage, a warm crowd, and no agenda beyond a good evening. Whether you’ve been polishing a set for months or you’ve got a poem scribbled on your phone that you’ve never read aloud, this is the night for it. Music, comedy, poetry, storytelling; the mic is genuinely open. Not a performer? Come anyway.

The bar will be stocked, the atmosphere will be relaxed, and there’s something quietly brilliant about being in a room when someone shares something for the very first time.
